Michael Kribbs: Thomas Trumble False Arrest

     At around 7:00PM on August 16, 2009 a lady yelled for help. Thomas Trumble ran to her place and saw he she was being beaten by her boyfriend. Thomas had a club and told him to get out. Right after he ran away, a deputy came in and tased Thomas at least twice by mistake. The lady told the deputy that Thomas didn’t do anything. The deputy realized he tased Thomas by mistake and even told another neighbor that Thomas would not be arrested.
     There were many sheriff cars around the area looking for the man that ran away. They didn’t find him.
     A supervisor for the sheriff department arrived. He told the deputy since he used the taser that Thomas had to be arrested. At that time they were not sure what to charge Thomas with since he did not do anything wrong. Then they figured some reason to arrest him. Even though Thomas did not do anything wrong, they decided to arrest him anyway.

     Thomas Trumble went to jail for 3 days for something he did not do.

Hey Mike,

By trial I think Tom meant in his criminal case. Here's what I found:

001 78407 AGG ASSAULT ON LEO/FIREFIGHTER, ETC. 01/29/2010 Prosecutor: Nolle Prosequi
002 84301 RESIST OFFICER W/VIOLENCE 01/29/2010 Court: Adjudicated Guilty

Basically, the agg assault charges were dropped. I'll request a copy of the report from his arrest, but I'm not sure what good it'll do if there's no evidence that the tasing was a mistake.

Facts:
The deputy that tased Tom admitted he made a mistake to several people and even told a neighbor
that he would not arrest Tom.
The supervisor changed that decision and said that since the taser was used then charges HAD to be filed.
They charged and arrested Tom after he had been tased at least twice.
Tom told me that he was going to court.
He spent 3 days in jail because the deputy tased him at least twice by mistake and they put a slanderous nickname ‘‘ Terrible Tom ’’ on record.
He was charged to cover the reputation of the deputy.
The truth is lacking as far as the 'lack of evidence' that the deputies were suppose to have.
